Notodden will rock this summer! After much waiting, fans can finally experience George Thorogood & The Destroyers at the Notodden Blues Festival. The "Demand for George Thorogood has been tremendous, and has only increased with time. Many fans can now rejoice that it is confirmed that the popular blues-rocker will be performing at the Notodden Blues Festival Saturday August 1st, "says festival director Jostein Forsberg. Having celebrated his 40th anniversary throughout 2014, George Thorogood & The Destroyers have now inventured on a new comprehensive "Badder Than Ever Tour" for 2015 and the tour plan leads him to Notodden.
Four decades on the road has honed George Thorogood & The Destroyers into a well-functioning blues / rock 'n' roll machine. The band has built a strong repertoire that has followed them from smoke filled small clubs in the 1970’s to today's big festival stages. George Thorogood & The Destroyers gives the audience what they want: all the popular tunes on are there. George himself says: "the set list is all killers, no fillers." George Thorogood is inspired by 1950s Chicago blues and rock 'n' roll and his guitar riffs are straight out of that era. The formula is built around Chuck Berry, John Lee Hooker, Elmore James and Bo Diddley and has never failed for Thorogood. His songs have established themselves as concert favorites and regulars on major FM and Classic Rock radio stations worldwide.
