Ready for some "bad" rock and roll?
Then you'll be happy to hear the news that George Thorogood recently took to the road with his latest tour.
George Thorogood And The Destroyers is co-headlining on tour with Brian Setzer this summer. Their concert hits Elgin, Ill. on June 6 and is officially titled "George Thorogood and The Destroyers/Brian Setzer's Rockabilly Riot Tour 2015"
It's been more than 20 years since the musicians have paired up on the road.
"I love Brian Setzer like a brother," Thorogood said, by phone, recently. "We've been trying to put a show together for years."
Thorogood said he's intent on bringing the "baddest" rock show that he can to the stage while "Brian Setzer will be bringing the most amazing rockabilly."
Prior to teaming with Setzer on this tour, Thorogood performed his "George Thorogood And The Destroyers: Badder Than Ever" tour, which ended in April.
The musician said he enjoys the Midwest crowd. He remembers one of the first experiences playing the Chicago area at Wise Fools Pub. He also remembers playing the House of Blues.
"They have to rebuild that place every time we come back," he said.
The touring experience for Thorogood, these days, can be both enjoyable and hectic, depending on circumstances.
"It's a little bit of both. It depends on how much rest I've gotten the night before," he said.
Thorogood's first studio take of his debut album "George Thorogood And The Delaware Destroyers" from 1976 will be released June 16 on Concord Records.
"They finally got the picture right," he said, adding the photo that was used on the original album wasn't the one he wanted. "This is the one I wanted to use," he said, about what appears now.
About the new release, Thorogood said "It's our version of 'Let It Be' without Phil Spector."
