Tag Rhodes, owner and president of CrossRhodes Entertainment and Monitag Inc., said: “I wanted to play a fun show for our customers and at a ticket price reflective of what it would have been 25 years ago for these three bands. You have Southern rock with Molly Hatchet, classic rock with Foghat and blues rock with George Thorogood, and at $8.33 for each group, that’s a really great deal.”

The guitar slinging, finger plucking, six string slide genius known as George Thorogood brought down opening night of his two night stay in St. Charles, IL at the Arcada Theatre. He, along with his Destroyers, played through the classic rock boogie driven tunes with fervor. They paid tribute to fallen rockers and lost legends in their profession and brought his brand of humor to encompass it all into a tight hour and a half package of rock and respect. All this on just the first night.
We all know George Thorogood and the Destroyers as that bar rocking, blues boogie belting power house from Delaware. The band that defines badass biker tunes, bar brawls in movies and summertime fair ground love. Thorogood’s sound is unmistakable. His brand stems from his love of rock n roll. His trademark look of perfectly quaffed hair, wrap around black sunglasses, black t-shirt, black jeans and a touch of rattlesnake hide. His sound, from his black (Blacktooth) or white (White Fang) Gibson ES-125 electric hollow bodies and that unmistakable whiskey soaked voice. It all still stands the test of time as great rock n roll should.
On this night, we get a mix of classic Thorogood hits as well as his own favorites in the form of cover tunes. The show opens with his drummer, Jeff Simon’s drums cross lit with blue spot lights center stage as Barry McGuire’s track, “Eve of Destruction” belts out through the PA system. This lead into “Rock Party” then “Who Do You Love?” After which, the band takes their first mini break.

The greater Phoenix area had an amazing evening of Rock & Roll on Saturday March 4th. There were a number of great bands that rolled into the valley. I and a full house of fans got to see a 70s Rock and Roll icon, George Thorogood And The Destroyers. I saw George Thorogood And The Destroyers back in the early 80s with the Rolling Stones at ASU Sun Devil Stadium. I have got to admit that this show was just as energetic and fun. George and the band were at the top of their game and we got a great rock & roll show. They played all of their greatest hits much to the delight of all of their fans.
They started the show with the 2006 high-energy boogie-blues song “Rock Party”. George strutted around the stage and at times played side-by-side with the other guitarist, the bassist and sax player. He was constantly playing to the crowd including the people standing on the side of the stage. George grew up watching the great bands of the 60s. His idols were Keith Richards and Mick Jagger. In a way, George attempts to take on the persona of both. He plays guitar like Keith and has the dynamic stage presence of Mick.

Don't go to the concert with expectations.
"We don't give the people what they expect, we give the people what they demand," George Thorogood said. "And what they demand for their money is to see the greatest rock show they've ever seen in their life. Nothing else will do."
Gold and platinum selling artists George Thorogood and the Destroyers will bring their "Rock Party Tour" to the western suburbs for two nights when they perform at 7:30 p.m. March 21-22 at the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles.
With more than 40 years of recording and touring, Thorogood and the Destroyers – Jeff Simon on drums and percussion, Bill Blough on bass guitar, Jim Suhler on rhythm guitar and Buddy Leach on saxophone – have numerous blues rock classics in the band's catalogue. Those include "Bad to the Bone," "Who Do You Love," "Move it On Over" and "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer" – songs, Thorogood said, they never tire of playing.
